  1. About fifty years ago people began to wear boots at about the age of fourteen or fifteen years.
    There were several people in this district who never wore boots or shoes, but all those are now dead. The children now-a-days go barefoot in Summer, but in Winter they wear boots or shoes. They go barefoot for about five months of the year.
