  1. Michael Mc. Donagh of Meelroe, Cloonloo, Boyle, Co. Sligo, was, in former times, a great walker. He was born over a hundred years ago, and died at about the age of seventy five. In his time roads were not as plentiful as they are now - a - days, and there were no trains, and very few carts. Atthat time all the people of this county used to make butter and pack it in "ferkins". They usually sold it in the Sligo market. There were certain men who had horses and carts, and they took the butter
