    Come all ye county Sligo boys,

    Come on you County Sligo boys, come listen to me a while. I'll sing for you a verse or two and I wont detain you long concerning this big job of work that started at our door. It was so badly needed, to drain the "Owen Mór".

    It started in Spring when small birds sing, and the lambs do sport and play. Our boys went out and raised a shout, for Ruanes they made their way. They did sit down without a frown, and ordered drink galore. And then set off for the "big bridge" to drain the "Owen Mór".
