  1. "One day a little boy who was about nine years of age was passing by a forge. As he was passing it he went in. When he went in pointing to a big red mass he said, "Is'nt that a big hot iron." The blacksmith said that it was. Then the boy said to him, "If you give me a penny I will lick it." The blacksmith thought he meant the hot iron and gave him a penny. The boy licked the penny and walked away."
