  1. Once there was a traitor named Glas whome Fionn sent into exile. He went to the king of world and offered him knowledge of the harbour of Ireland and told him to come and capture it. Fionn got word that the king of the world had sailed and he called the seven batalions to arms and also the seven reserves.
    He hurried watch-men forth to every headland. On the round hill over the white strand, a youth names Conm Crither was put on guard. He lay down to rest and the scent of the grass cast a haziness upon him and he fell into a deep restfull sleep.
    He was awakened by the crashing of keels upon shingle and he looked down in alarm and saw hundreds of glittering shining sheilds
