    asked the owner for the loan of the book and he said if anything should happen to the book he would pay back the sum of one thousand pounds.
    Afterwards it was bought by Hugh Dubh O'donnell for one hundred and fifty milk cows.
    It is at present install in a beautiful case in the Royal Irish Academy.
    It is a very beautiful book.
    In olden times people had not the same means of writing as they have at present.
    There was no printing press.
    Every book was written by hand and this took a long time.
    The Book of Ballymote was also written by hand and took a long time to complete.
    This is the reasons why this book is so valuable and could not be bought at the present day for any money.
