  1. St Attracta is the patroness of our diocese in Achonry. She lived near Lough Gara, she was very rich. She tried to make a passage or road from the land into the Island but this road was never finished.
    There is a beautiful well near Ballaghaderren called St. Attracta's well.
    It is surrounded by a nice wall.
    In this month a large crowd of people come to the well to pray and perform the stations.
    There is a procession from the Cathedral of (Ballymote) Ballaghaderren.
    The rosary is said and Bened
