    A set of shoes for a horse would cost four shillings and for a donkey. A forge is a very smoky dirty place. There is a big fire on all day and the forge is filled with smuts(?) smoke and flying sparks.
    The blacksmith wears an apron to keep his clothes clean and to keep his clothes from wearing Wheelmen go to the forge they spend a good while taking and at night men come there and stay talking for a long time.
