  1. One night people were in a neighbor's house in Culfadda. Suddenly everybody got a great fright. A small man came from the end of the house and up by the woman of the house into the room. Everybody got up to see who the stranger was. The woman of the house got a candle and they all went up to the room. When they went up nothing could be seen but still they could hear noises and a voice speaking. A short time after they thought they saw two men dressed in the uniform of soldiers each sitting on a bag of turf. Each got up and went in a different direction. The latch was heard. The door opened the same little man walked from the room to the end of the house. He was dressed in a soldier's uniform.
