  1. It is said that there is a ghost in a house beside Ardree railway crossing.
    When the people used to be sitting around the fire, the tongs used to be thrown down to the door and someone would come to the door and start rattling chains.
    One time a man was going to the fair. It was about five o'clock in the morning and the irons were rattling in the barn. The sleepers were jumping on the railway. Nobody ever saw anything strange but noises have always been heard when the house is in darkness.
    At present the people leave a light always burning in the house at night.
