Rathdooney Fort is also very beautiful with shrubberies growing on the side and around it.

The fairies were often singing around this fort.
People are afraid to cut trees on Forts as they fear some accidents would happen to them or their friends.

There is a fort one mile from my house and its shape is round and there is a lot of lone bushes growing on it, there are many interesting stories told about it. One day a rich woman went out and cut a bush and that night she sat late carding and preparing wool while all the family and servants were asleep.

Suddenly a knock was given at the door and a voice called "Open! Open!"
Who is there?" said the woman
