  1. Under a rock in a field in Ardree lie three king's wealth. It is an enormous rock and the gold is guarded by a red haired witch and no one will ever get the money without dreaming of it for three nights. People say that the one who dreams of it will have to shoot the witch with a three penny bit put into a rifle. It is an old saying that a man in an adjoining field was bringing cattle to the fair and he saw the witch sitting on the rock combing her red hair.
