  1. The feast and old customs of Halloween are still kept in the Carroureagh district. It is looked forward to by young and old but especially by the children as it is a time of fun and merry making. Then night begins with a great feast. There are sweet cakes and fruits of all description placed on the table, and the barm brack and placed in the most conspicuous place. This is the one that contains the ring. The person that gets the ring will be the first married. After supper the fun begins. The children go ducking for apples and money in a tub of water. They play many interesting tricks.
