  1. In olden times everybody churned the milk. There were no creameries in those days and everybody had a diary of their own. Sometimes when the milk was plentiful there was two or three churnings in the week and not like nowadays the churning was in progress between and three o'clock in the morning.
    Long ago the people kept the milk in a churn. The churn was made of wood and it consisted of two parts the bottom part and the "peck," which is the top part. Some had churning machines but different from those used at the present day.
    People were very superstitious with regards churning in olden times. They would not allow
