    Weight -throwing was played in the district in olden times. Some people hurt themselves throwing. If they weren't able to buy a weight they used to have a big heavy stone. Very few people play that game nowadays. The tinkers mostly that play it.
    There was a game of football played in the graveyard between Ballymote and Carrickbanagher. Then Ballymote team won.
