- (continued from previous page)There was a new school erected in Dromcormack in 1898 after John Mullen emigrated and the next teacher was Miss Ward. The school is standing to the present day and has the luck of good qualified teachers.
- There was a man by the name of Mr Maye a native of Carrigans Upper who was a very good teacher. He taught school in a very small house in Ballymote. The chief subjects there were Grammar and spelling. Irish was taught also.
