  1. A holy well is situated in Mr. Mc. Gettrick's land in Carrigans. It is called St. Brigid's well. It is situated under a lone bush, and there are stepping stones leading into the well. A man who was blind, heard of this well and he was taken to it.He was told that if he would wash his eyes with the water, he would be cured. He took some of the water home with him and bathed his eyes in it each day for nine days and on the ninth day, he was cured.
