    Quite convenient to my home there is a gentleman's residence and it was always supposed to be haunted by ghosts.

    Quite convenient to my home there is a gentleman's residence, and it was always supposed to be haunted by ghosts. There was a man who lived near this residence, and he usually heard horses galloping up and down the avenue, during the night. When the horses were put into the stables at night, the doors were locked. In the morning, when the huntsmen would go out to loosen their horses, the horses would be all muck and covered with sweat just as if they were out during the night, and the doors were unlocked. There was a man reading a book in the harness room of this residence at midnight and the latch rose off the door and in walked a big tall man and took with him a horse whip and
