  1. My father gave me the following account of the night of the big wind which he heard from his Grand-father, They lived near Keash about three miles from Ballymote.
    The spray from the sea was blown as far as Keash, as farmers in that district found the taste of the salt water on their lips when they were out securing their hay and corn from the storm which raged on that memorable night, and which has been spoken of down to the present day.
