Sligo and as the horses jumped the Owenmore river near Templehouse Thomas thought that the calf would not be able to go accross and he said "good bull calf£ The calf suddenly ran from under Thomas and left him on the bank. Needless to say the poor man had to walk home a distance of seventeen or eighteen miles.
