    In the times before the Famine the people ate only oatmeal, potatoes and milk.

    In the times before the Famine the people ate only oatmeal, potatoes and milk.
    They had only two meal's a day, the breakfast at about eight o'clock in the morning, and the supper at eight o'clock in the evening and they called their supper their dinner.
    They used to have a small little table that folded up and down, and they used to put it out in the middle of the floor, and in some houses they had a little table they could pin up against the wall.
    And all the household, young and old, gathered round these tables, and ate their oatmeal porridge freely. Tea was never known in the district at this time but it came into the district about
