    stockings are knitted by the women of the house, and the wool is spun locally. There are two spinning wheels in this district. Mrs J Brehony of Ballyrush had one but she is now dead. Mrs. McManus has another and she still spins on it.
    Black and grey are worn after the death of a relative and white is worn at a wedding.
