  1. There are many forts in this district. Some of them can be seen from one another. A man named Lavan who lives in Curlisheen or "The round fort of the fairies" told me this story. "Since I came to this house many and many a time I have seen lights leaving the fort on the side of that hill, seven in all. They move along slowly until they come to the top of Higgin's hill some three hundred yards away. Then they begin to get dim and they all quench together but in a few minutes they burst into flames again. Soon after I see these lights someone dies in the vicinity.
