    grown up people go without shoes now except some old people who keep around their own houses.
    Michael Dwyer a young man who lives in Curlisheen makes boots for himself and his father. Another man Pat Keaney made boots for himself and his family and now his son follows the same trade.
    In this district the shoemaking trade comes down from father to son and this is as long as the oldest people can remember.
    Long ago if people suffered from a sore foot a friend of the suffering went to a cemetery and brought a bone from it and put it to the foot. The bone had to be left back again before sunrise.
