Ar an leathanach seo

  1. Ferret's leavings. This is a cure for the whooping cough. The ferrets are given bread and milk to eat and what they leave after them is given to the children.
    Cure for Elf shot. Three [mearing?] water, holy water, herbs, melted butter, and thirteen pence halfpenny. The herbs and water are put down in a saucepan to boil together with the thirteen pence halfpenny. They are then strained and the herbs are mixed with the melted butter and formed into nine little balls. The water is rubbed on the affected parts of the animal, and she is made swallow the nine balls three at each turn. She gets a rub of the water after taking each ball.
    Cure for toothache. The person who has the toothache should carry the tooth of a dead person in his pocket.
    Cure for a strain. A strain thread which is made out of wool or hemp and some prayers said over it.
