- There was once two brothers who lived at Kilmacroy near Ballyfarnon and they used to go rambling every night, each a different direction.One of the brothers used to be in at bedtime and the other used not be in until morning.
One evening the brother that used to come in early made up his mind that he would follow the other brother to see where he used to spend his night. This night when he started on his journey the other brother started out after him.He told him to go back several times but he would not and at last he told him to come but that he would have to do all he would see him at.They went along and when they reached a fort the brother was astonished to see a fine mansion. He knocked at the door and it swung open and they went in.They had great feasting and drinking until a certain hour and then they said they would take their usual ride. As they went out of the house each took a rod from over the door and struck a "botarlawn" and it turned into a bullock.
Now they started off on their journey and they were supposed not to speak until they would return to the same place.They were crossing a river and each jumped it(continues on next page)
