  1. Long ago there was a fort in a man's field and there lived a great many fairies in it. There was a wood of trees round the fort. One day the man dug up the trees and planted them in his garden. he brought away the clay of the fort also. Every morning after chat when he went out to look at his cattle one of them would be dead or sick. The man had bad luck until he brought back the clay and trees. When he brough them back he had always a happy time.
