  1. Festival Customs.
On St. Stephen's Day men and boys dress up in old clothes. They go from house to house dancing and playing music. They gather money. In the evening they divide the money. Some of them go to Public-houses and spend the money.
On St Patrick's Day people go to church and wear shamrocks. The girls wear green ribbins and badges. On Shrove Tuesday people make pan-cakes.
On Ash Wednesday people went to the Chapel to get the sign of the cross put on their foreheads. On Good Friday people eat no meat and they think it not right to drive a nail.
On Easter Sunday people have a big feast of eggs.
