  1. There are ten thorns got off a gooseberry bush. Nine of them are pointed at the sore and the tenth thrown across the right shoulder. It is done on Mondays and Thursdays before the sun goes down.
    Squeeze house-leek and put the juices in and around the eye. If too severe boil the leek in milk and bathe the eye with the liquid.
