  1. Local landlordism has existed in this country for ages their system was cruel and if they wanted money they would rise your rent. They had an agent a rent warner and a driver for driving the cattle to the pound for the rent.
    If they wanted land they would give you six days notice and leave you on the roadsides if you were able to pay or not. Hundreds of families were left homeless by this means. This sales of affairs existed in this country till eighteen eighty one. When legislation was in act which gave the farmers fixity of tenure fair rent and fair sale. This land bill checked the cruelty of landlordism the tenants rushed into court and had fair rent fixed under the land-commission system that state of affairs existed till nineteen hundred and three then a land act was passed with compulsory powers which compelled the land-
