Ar an leathanach seo

  1. The old people in times gone by could tell whether good or bad was coming by the appearance of the sky. If there are red clouds in the west especially at sunset it is a sign of good weather, but if they are a yellowish or coppery colour it uasually foretells rain.
If there is a mist on the river at sunset it is said that the following day will be good, but if there is a mist on the hill the following day will be bad. If there is a red ring round the moon it is a sign of a storm. If the swallows fly low it is a sign of rain. If the crane alights in the river it is a sign of rain.
When the mist is going off the mountain and if it goes on to the sea it is a sign of good weather. If the mist comes in the mountain it is a sign of bad weather, if it stays on the mountain it is a sign of good weather.
