  1. St Fechin was born in Bella about a mile from my home in the sixth century. He founded a church there and the ruins are still to be seen. His mothers name was Lassera.
    The old people say that when St Fechin was a little boy he was minding a cow and calf in a field beside his own home. The cow would not give her milk except she would be let lick her calf while being milked.
    One day as Fechin knelt down beside a rock he started to pray. A wolf came and stole away the calf. When he saw the calf was gone he did not know what to do as the cow would not give her milk. Fechin knelt down to pray again. Before he had finished the wolf came back. Fechin caught
