  1. The townland I live in is Carrick-Conagher. There are about sixty families in this townland and about fourteen or fifteen hundred acres of land.
    Before it was vested to the Land Comission it was the property of Mrs Clara O Farrel, and for several generation the property of the OFarrells.
    CarrickConagher in olden times took its name from Bensons rock. Benson was a King who lived at Corane under Cashel hill, and on Corane hill there is an arm-chair cut out of the rock. Corane hill is not as big a hill as Cothel hill. There is another hill called Doonfin hill which was at one time the seat of the O'Farrells.
