    with the flood. Cocks of hay also came down the river with the flood. There was a big snowfall about thirty years ago. The people had to shovel away the snow on the roads and railways. It freezed over the snow and no horse could travel on it.

  2. About October forty years ago there was a very severe weather. It kept raining until a flood arose. In our district it carried cocks of hay out of the fields down as far as the little river a distance of about five hundred yards. The trees on the bank of the river prevented the cocks from being brought farther. They were brought back again when the flood went down. About December or January following there was a great snowfall. The depth of the snow was about a foot. In places where the snow drifted it rose to a height of about six feet. After it stopped snowing it started freezing. The snow was frozen so hard that no horse could travel on it. This snow remained for a few weeks. The little river was frozen over to a depth of
