  2. Marriages usually take place in this locality between the feast of the Epiphany and Ash Wednesday. Wednesday is supposed to be a lucky day for marriages and Saturday an unlucky day. May is considered an unlucky month for marriages. Land used to be given as a dowry. People do not remember marriages taking place in the houses. They dress with straw hats. They also tie straw around their bodies and legs. They either blacken their faces or wear false faces. After the marriage the bride and groom and their guests go for a drive to some place of interest.
