  2. There is a lot of roads in my district. The Markee road. It got its name because it is the principle road to Markee Castle. It leads to Drumahaire. The Barrick road which leads to Ballygawley is so called on account of the Barrack being situated on it. Another road is the old road which leads up by the Protestant Church and into Cartron. This road is supposed to be the oldest road about the district. Tradition tells us that it was built during the Famine times. One time it was the principle road to Dublin.
There is also a road leading from Glann to Collooney, it is supposed to be one hundred and eight years old, and it is also supposed to be built in the Famine times.
