  1. The name of my home district is Lackagh in the parish of Kilmorgan and barony of Corran.
In the district there are ten families and the approximate number of people is about thirty.
The name most common is Mulligan. the houses are mostly thatched.
There is a lake in the district called Cronan lake and it is prophesied that three lives will be lost in it as it is supposed to be enchanted.
One day as a man was ploughing near this lake his horses would not work for him but began to run towards the lake. When they reached the lake the horses pulled the man and plough into the lake so he was never seen again.
In former times, in this townland, the houses were far more numerous but their ruins are still to be seen in many places.
In recent years many people emigrated to America, England and Scotland. The land is good and there is not much bog. There is no wood in the townland.
The only river connected with Lackagh is the Corran and there is no story connected with it.
