- The local fairs are held in Coolaney, Collooney, Ballymote, and Tull, Tubbercurry once a month. This is how cattle, sheep, and pigs are sold. Firstly the man brings a calf to the fair to sell him, and he meets a buyer. The buyer asks the man "How much do you want for that calf". "I want six pound". "I will give you £5 = 10" says the buyer. Then an other man comes along to settle the bargain, and he strikes their hands together, and so the bargain is made. The buyer puts a mark of blue paint on the calf's back and brings him away. The man gives some money for luck.
