  1. How Cakes were made long ago in Coolaney.
    Oat- meal bread was the most they used long ago.
    Firstly they put oat meal into a basin, and put sugar on it. Then they mixed it into a dough with soft water. It was then rolled out about half inch thick, and baked on an iron that was made for that purpose. It was baked standing up in front of the fire. They also made potato- bread in olden times.
    Firstly they peeled, and mashed the potatoes. Then they mixed them with flour and salt and rolled them. Then cut them in shape and baked on a pan with butter
