  1. A poor man who had a very large family leaves home in order to get them something to eat for Christmas. He sets out on his white horse and continues hiding until he comes to the door of a house in Sligo.
    The woman of the house asks him where he has come from. He tells her he has come from heaven.
    " Have you seen my Mickey"s.
    Yes answers the messenger and he is a very good boy too but he has no clothes. The woman then gives him a roll of cloth in order to make him some clothes.
    "Have you seen Paddy the neighbours son" she asks.
    Yes and a good working boy he is but he has nothing to eat with his potatoes.
    She then sends half a firkin of butter for Paddy.
    The man then rides off on his white house with his good things.
