  1. There lived a man in Curry one time behind McCarthy's fort, and he had one child. This child was stolen by the fairies.
    "Very well". This child couldn't be got, one night when the man was going rambling he heard a voice in the air crying: "The half of him to me!" "The whole of him to me!" says he, and down dropped the child on his feet.
