  2. In a certain place in Sligo there is supposed to be a stone called "The Blood Stone". When it is scratched, it turns red and appears to bleed.

  3. Mr John Doyle who in olden time lived in Sligo had a field called the "watch Field".
    During Cromwell's war the troopers took a large quantity of loot from the people of the neighbourhood.
    They buried it in his field as in order to protect it they shot one of number and buried him along with is, as was the custom with the pirates at the time.
    It is said that up to the present day the trooper is sometimes seen riding his charger round the fields to guard the buried treasures
