  1. Song

My true love's face is as bright

My true love's face is as bright
and clear as the sky on a
    Summer's day.
    Her golden hair and flaxen
    curls o'er her neck and
    shoulders play,
No land or title does she own
she s a simple Irish lass,
She was born in the heart of
    Garyown,
And they call her the "cailin deas."
There are maidens fair by the
Shannon side and maids by the
    Suir and Nore.
    Like the pretty little Shamrock
buds dotted all around Erin's shore. You could see them tripping
o'er the heather on a Sunday
    going to Mass.
But the prettiest girl among them
all was my own dear "cailin deas."
