  1. Tadg Dall O'Higgins was a chieftain who lived in a portion of Moylough called "Bearna Dourin" in the Parish of Curry and in the Barony of Leymy.
    He got the lands of the parish of Curry from a convent of Nuns in Galway whose lands were not confiscated.
    He built a house in Chimney Park, but the only trace we can find of it now is a few cut stones.
    He was blind since he was born, but he had the gift of poetry.
    He wrote some famous poems in Irish.
    There arose a despute between between him and a family of the O'Hara's.
    He wrote a satire about them. When they heard this they got very angry and they decided to have revenge. One-day he was on his way from Ballina and they heard it, and
