  1. Boys and girls, sometimes, find amusements by making toys. In years gone by, the children spent most of their time making toys, as there were not many toys that time and little money to buy them.
    Tops
    Every boy can make a top from a thread-spool. They pare one end of the spool in to a point. Then they get a piece of stick about four inches long and put a point on one end of it, and put it in through the hole in spool. They leave about two inches of the stick above the head of the spool that is not pared. They can catch the stick in their hands and spin it, and then let it fall to the ground and it will spin there for about a minute.
