  1. The months that are thought unlucky for marriage are February, May, October and November. The days thought unlucky are Friday and Saturday as the old rhyme goes-
    Monday for health,
    Tuesday for wealth,
    Wednesday the best of them all,
    Thursday for crosses,
    Friday for losses and
    Saturday no good at all.
    Nobody would dream of getting married on Saturday. In the olden times all the people used to rush to get married during Shrove. They thought that they could not get married anytime only during Shrove. the first Sunday after Ash Wednesday was called "pus" Sunday. The reason it was called "pus" Sunday was because all the girls who did not get married during Shrove had "pus" on them because
