  1. On the townland of Kilrusheighter there was an old School. The last teacher that taught in this school was Mr. Owen Melvin. He lived and taught there. He used to teach English writing, Arithmetic, Geography, and Grammar. He used to write a headline on every child's book, with a pen made out of a quill. The children then copied this writing with pens made from quills by him. He taught here until Kilkusheighter school was built in the year 1878. Then he was the first teacher to teach in that school
    My teacher's mother was taught in the old school.
