    Garlick was the chief ingredient of the famous “ Thieves Vinegar” which protected those robbers as they were able to plunder the dead without infection during the Great Plague.
    The Red Clover is used for coughs.
    The Cowslip is very useful, Tea is made from it and this tea is an excellent drink when going to bed as it induces sleep.
    The Elder flowers are useful for colds, rheumatism and gout.
    The Marigold Flower is used for internal fevers and promotes perspiration.
    The Rhubarb is a well known garden herb. It is used in various forms of food. When mixed with figs it is made into an excellent preserve.
    This jam improves when flavoured with ginger.
