  1. One night a man was going through an old deserted field. he was returning from a neighbour's house and it was after midnight.
    Suddenly he heard the sound of horses hoofs. He then saw a great number of little horses coming towards him. In the clear moonlight he saw very small men riding on them. In the centre of the field there was a big stone and a well in the middle of it. The fairies went over to the stone, came down off their horses, washed their eyes in the water and went off in another direction. The
