  1. Strawboys
    Up till fifty years ago when a wedding was held many of the young people around who were not attending the wedding dressed in fancy dress and went to the bride's house. They were called strawboys.
    They had big high strawhats on their heads and straw belts around their waists and knees.
    Towards nightfall they all gathered in one place and appointed one of them a captain. Then the captain gave orders and the others had to obey his orders.
    When they got to the wedding -house the captain and two or three others placed a chair
